This is what i faced so far!
i have a macbook pro which i updated to yosemite very recently and it occured that the hard disk is failing. i reset the hard disk deleted the partition and cracked my head.
i tried to use the command r option to download and reinstall which it didnt happen and spent lot of Data usage too. but then again i removed the hard disk and installed a hard disk from my windows pc which was installed windows 8, i restarted then suddently it worked like butter. installed the boot camp too then it was really fine.
since apple pc is to use mac os not windows i attempted to install mac os x again.
this is where i had to fix the hard disk to a windows desktop and used
command line (cmd) to format the hard disk to first state. use diskpart method it really does work!
then fix the hard disk to the macbook and create a bootable recovery assistant from a mac pc you need a usb pen driver to do this task. by doing this task you will be able to run recovery mode by the pen drive.
before this procedure format the usb drive to Mac os file format (journaled)
then turn the drive to recovery disk (it has to be more than 1GB because it needs 650MB)
so then insert the pen drive and start the macbook, while starting the macbook hold the OPTION + COMMAND + R buttons together and wait until the apple logo appears and wait until the recovery mode is on hold until recovery mode is enabled.
PS : if you are using the same hard disk i suggest you to download a fresh copy of YOSEMITE and use Disk Maker X to make the pen drive as a Boot Disk and do the installation from this you wont get stuck in the middle. as i experienced. this method is the only solution for the system to reinstall. make sure you use a 16GB pen drive to make the disk since YOSEMITE takes little less than 13GB when its expands.
then follow the normal procedure, hope this will work for you guys!
because mine did work!
Enjoy!
